Treasurer’s Report on the Annual Accounts for the year ended 31 August 2016

Of the matches played within the year ended 31 August 2016,nine were away and four were at home,with the Ladies match being a shared cost.Consequently, over this period, a surplus of £4897 was achieved. The previous year, when the pattern of matches was reversed, a deficit of £3890 was sustained. On a bi-annual basis covering 2014/16, therefore, a very satisfactory surplus of £1007 was booked.

During that year, a recruitment drive to attract more members to the Association was held at a net cost of £531. However, the income to the Association from subscriptions increased by £148 from the previous year and hopefully will be repeated in next year’s renewals.

The bank balance of £19716 is regarded as satisfactory when taken together with £920 of deposits pre-paid to clubs where we shall play matches and competitions next year.

In 2016,the tour ended with a surplus of £130 ,and this is to be carried forward to the 2017 tour.
